Saturday, July 15 from 9 - 10:30am

Visit our toddler, preschool and kindergarten classrooms and tour Breakwater’s campus. Children are welcome! Preschool and toddler teachers will be on hand with materials and activities that demonstrate our philosophy of learning. Our Director of Admissions and Early Childhood Coordinator will provide information and applications for families interested in enrollment.

Cranes for Change: Student Initiated Service Learning

Cranes for Change is the self-adopted name a group of Breakwater fourth graders have chosen to describe a project inspired during their semester long integrated study of history’s peacemakers. After reading Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Eleanor Coerr, the students began folding small origami cranes and stringing them.

This Embodied Mindfulness class teaches an active practice where participants learn how to use the widely acknowledged mind-body connection to implement or improve intentional parenting skills. Step Up Night!

Breakwater’s toddler through eighth grade structure is among our greatest assets. It allows us a carefully constructed continuum of academic and social preparation where skills intentionally build on one another. Faculty communicate and collaborate within and across all grade levels allowing teachers to really understand each child as they progress. Mt. Cardigan: 5th Grade's Three Day Adventure

The 5th grade’s upcoming trip to Mt. Cardigan is one in a series of overnight trips at Breakwater that in recent years have begun in third grade. The goals of our outdoor, overnight programming are both immediate and far-reaching, including team-building, improving group-process and conflict resolution skills, developing self-confidence, environmental awareness, resilience, empathy and sense of place in the world.
