Dear Preschool Families,
We are thankful for the sun, for trees, for snowy days, and for ducks to watch. We are thankful for eating treats together, zucchini muffins, and hot drinks on cold days, apple cider. We are thankful for time spent playing and singing with friends. We are thankful your children, whom come to school everyday with so much passion for learning about our world.
This very short week has been a very full one, both with activity and in our hearts. As our field trip to the Evergreen ponds let us enjoy the magic of snow. If you are close to home this week, we suggest you bring your child back to the ponds to explore, it is a great outdoor family activity. Back at school we played “ginger bread babies” on the playground, as well as hung up a bird feeder in the garden. We enjoyed warming up inside after the chilly mornings with storytimes, letter bingo, building with legos, and making magic wands.
In preparation for our winter concert we have been singing Simple Gifts. In lieu of the weekly questions you could ask your child to teach you this song so you can all sing together.
'Tis the gift to be simple,
'Tis the gift to be free
'Tis the gift to come down where we ought to be
And when we find ourselves in the place just right
It will be in the valley of love and delight
When true simplicity is gained
To bow and to bend, we will not be ashamed
To turn, turn, will be our delight
'Til by turning, turning, we come round right
