Saturdays at Breakwater
Introducing Saturdays at Breakwater! Breakwater students grades K - 8th, are invited to join us in a multicultural Saturday School experience deeply rooted in our mission and the Breakwater Way!
Every Saturday from 9:30-12:30 our campus will be open and welcoming, offering Explorations in the visual arts, tinkering, outdoor play & sports skills, performing arts, and cooking/cuisines. Instruction will be offered in all the languages of Portland, on a rotating schedule: one week we might have a cooking class and sports skill in Portuguese, the next week a visual arts class offered in French or Arabic. Language interpretation will often be provided, but part of the joy of the program is learning to understand, appreciate and communicate with other people beyond our reliance on spoken and written language. Parents and caregivers will be invited to visits and performances.
At this time we are offering 2 6-weeks sessions from Saturday, March 2nd through the beginning of June:
Session 1
Saturday, March 2, 2024 - Saturday, April 6, 2024
Session 2
Saturday, April 13, 2024 - Saturday, June 1, 2024 (April 20 and Memorial Day weekend will be Saturday holidays)
